ITEM 995 Weights - Dunnage

This Item is an Exception to Section 3 of NMFC Item 995 Any temporary blocking, flooring or lining, racks, standards, strips, stakes or similar bracing, dunnage or supports, not constituting a shipping carrier, container or package, or a part of the vehicle when required to protect and make shipments secure for transportation, must be furnished and installed by the shipper, except that such materials may be installed by the Carrier subject to the following provisions: Materials will be furnished by the shipper or when materials are furnished by the Carrier the charge thereof will be paid by the shipper upon presentation of invoice by the Carrier. A charge for labor necessary for such installation by the Carrier at a rate of $59.00 per hour or fraction thereof, minimum charge of $59.00 for each employee, will be paid by the shipper upon presentation of invoice by the Carrier. This Rule does not apply to shipments subject to other than classes or rates of shipments, upon which charges are based on less than 20,000 pounds.
